  • Remembrance Day
November 12, 2025

Today, the Keble community gathered in solemn reflection to honour the brave individuals who served and sacrificed for our freedom. At 11 o’clock, the school observed a two-minute silence—a powerful moment of stillness and gratitude, marking the courage and legacy of those who came before us.

To commemorate the occasion, our Head Boy delivered a heartfelt reading of In Flanders Fields, the poignant poem written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae during the First World War. His words resonated deeply, capturing the enduring themes of bravery, loss, and remembrance.

Our youngest pupils from Pre-Prep laid a poppy wreath with care and reverence, while the Keble flag was raised in tribute—a quiet yet powerful symbol of respect. As The Last Post echoed through the playground, the entire school stood united in remembrance.

Mr Gill, Head, offered a thoughtful explanation of the significance of Remembrance Day, helping our pupils understand the importance of honouring those who gave so much. He reflected:

"As a traditional Prep school, it is important that we commemorate occasions such as Remembrance. Today’s ceremony was a moving tribute, with our Head and Deputy Head students leading the readings and flag ceremony. The Keble community observed the two-minute silence with great respect - a lovely respectful event."
